marketplace amp joins forces with Bury St Edmunds charity Gatehouse

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

We are extremely excited to team up with our friends and neighbours in the heart of Bury St Edmunds, Gatehouse, an independent charity whose incredible work has served many vulnerable and disadvantaged people of Suffolk for over 30 years.

Gatehouse provides services to increasing numbers of older people and their family carers in Suffolk, with their work effectively split into four key areas — The Home Store, The Foodbank, The Dementia Hub and The Christmas Project.

With so much great work going on at Gatehouse, they are seeking support for two fantastic events to raise funds and awareness for their services — December’s Christmas themed fancy-dress event, “Dress Yourself As An Elf”, and a James Bond themed Charity Ball and Casino Royale Night in April. Book your tickets for the Charity Ball before they sell out by emailing info@gatehouse.org.uk.

Show your support for “Mental Elf” on 4th December!

Christmas is just around the corner and Gatehouse’s “Dress Yourself As An Elf” event is on a mission to raise awareness for “Mental Elf” and bring mental health issues to everyone’s attention during the festive season, a time when some people may be struggling.

Gatehouse would like to see staff at businesses across the town don an elf costume on Wednesday 4th December to show support for the cause and spread the festive cheer!

Amanda Bloomfield, Chief Executive of Gatehouse, said: “It’s important to raise awareness of mental health issues, particularly in the run up to Christmas when many people are feeling isolated and alone. We’re hoping businesses will support us.”

Charity Ball and Casino Royale Night — 24th April 2020

Looking ahead to 2020, why not see if you can play your cards right at the Gatehouse Charity Ball and Casino Royale Night at The Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds!

The James Bond themed black tie event — run in partnership with West Suffolk Hospital charity My WiSH — is raising money to support local people and their families living with dementia, helping to fill the void left by reduced public services.

To support this worthy cause and enjoy a night of glamour at what is sure to be the ace in the pack of Bury’s Spring calendar, please email info@gatehouse.org.uk and book your ticket!
